Snofru’s northern Red Pyramid is a well-known landmark.
The Crimson Pyramid, which is located inside what is known as the Dahshur Necropolis, was given this name because of the red, rusty color that it has derived from red limestone.

Directions:
The Red Pyramid, which is readily accessible by road and is bordered by a green belt region and local towns, is about 30 minutes from downtown Cairo and 15 minutes from the Three Pyramids of Giza, respectively.
History:
The Red Pyramid, the biggest of the three main Pyramids at the Dahshur Necropolis, was regarded to be one of the earliest Pyramids to explore the notion of a smooth-sided Pyramid, and it is the oldest of the three major Pyramids in Egypt.
The Pyramid of Djoser is also the third-largest Egyptian pyramid in terms of height, following the Khufu and Khafra pyramids at Giza.
Snofru’s Red Pyramid, despite its lower angle of 43.5 degrees and higher height of 101 m, clearly prefigures the Cheops building, which is also the only pyramid whose scale exceeds that of Snofru’s Red Pyramid.
Snofru’s third effort at Pyramid construction was most likely his last, although he was not put to rest in any of the burial chambers found here since they were all empty.
The inside was accessible to the public, and you may climb up and down into it to see the three musty rooms that are hidden within it.
Electric illumination has been provided, however, it is subject to failure at times, so carry a flashlight with you.
Unlike the first two rooms, which are generally parallel to each other, the third chamber is elevated above the ground and perpendicular to the other two.
