Whale Valley is a place where whales may be found.

This archeological site, which is located in the Western Desert region of Egypt’s Fayoum Governorate, is historically recognized for its prehistoric fossils.

‘Wadi Al Hitan’ is the name given to it by the Egyptians.

Discoveries:

There is a significant paleontological region here that contains rich fossil remnants of the Archaeoceti, a suborder of whales that was formerly common but is now extinct.

It offers a fascinating look at evolution as well as an insight into how whales evolved from terrestrial creatures to ocean-going mammals, and it is widely regarded as one of the finest and most significant discoveries of the 20th century in its field.

The remnants demonstrate how these species began to lose their limbs as terrestrial animals before re-forming as water creatures as a result of their losses.

Another famous and recent discovery by an American paleontologist was the discovery of a complete skeleton of Basilosaurus, which descended from an earlier species that originated in different parts of the world, including Pakistan, Europe, North America, and Asia, and which, at the time of its discovery, were creatures that walked, rather than swim, rather than swim.

There is a vast collection of known (and yet undiscovered) fossils from the ocean and land masses in Whale Valley that date back as far as 40 to 50 million years ago when strong evidence indicates that the basin of Wadi Hitan was a part of the oceanic plate.
