location:
The road, which is around a 4-hour 40-minute drive from Cairo and more than 6 hours from Alexandria, will take you from the bustling cities into the tranquil and sparse areas of the desert regions, with breathtaking sights along the way.
In Agabat, there are no towns at all since the terrain is barren and the intense temperatures experienced during the summer months make life exceedingly difficult.
What to expect to see:
Even though Agabat is a lesser valley and is considered a little valley compared to the Bahariya region, it is nonetheless breathtaking in its own right.
The area has spectacular mountain formations and numerous white cliff faces that are comparable to those seen in the White Desert.
It also contains dunes that are connected to the Sahara Desert and rare yellow limestone rocks.
It is more difficult to climb the mountain slopes here since they are taller and steeper than those on the path to Bahariya and Farafra.
Centuries ago, in the lowest part of the Agabat Valley, there existed a riverbed that nature had curiously put in an unexpected location, allowing water to be pumped up from the valley floor.
