Location:
With a travel time of around 30 minutes from downtown Cairo, Saint Mary is located in the Old Cairo neighborhood, in the center of Old Coptic Cairo.
It is situated amid several other churches in a private Christian community that has existed and been well-preserved since the 10th Century.
History:
it is one of the most magnificent churches in the Middle East and may be reached by following the path that leads there.
The nave of it, which is built on top of a Roman fortified gatehouse known as Babylon, is hung above a corridor that runs through it.
The Hanging Church is located immediately south of the Coptic Museum in Cairo. is distinguished by the presence of 13 majestic pillars in its interior, which symbolize Jesus and his 12 apostles.
As you sit in on the service, you may hear the old liturgical Coptic language being spoken and experience a live remnant of Ancient Egyptian history.
